Lee Trone started Trone Advertising in 1982 by bringing a unique perspective to his role as agency leader: the client’s perspective. A seasoned senior marketing executive with a lucrative career, Lee turned down a big promotion and instead set up shop in Greensboro. Lee believed there was a market for an agency focused on solving clients’ strategic marketing problems rather than on the creation of ads for their own sake, a vision that led to nearly three decades of success and counting. Lee earned his MBA at Wharton and is active in many civic and community groups.
