Sometimes it’s not what you say, so much as how you say it. And when it comes to explaining numbers or data, this is especially true.

Take for example the paper trail of the financial crisis. There are so many explanations it’s like trying to solve a murder mystery. Except, nobody is keeping track of all the clues in one place. Here’s one person who took a shot.

Or, how about the Federal Budget? Who is really going to download the 1,000+ page document? What if it was distilled down to a one-page infographic?

Using Flash you can make the most mundane statistics feel engaging.

Enough about current events. How about those everyday observations? Never underestimate the power of a good venn diagram to illuminate.

Whether it’s a presentation, a brochure, or a website think about how you can get your point across more effectively with pictures. Someday I think I’ll write my autobiography exclusively with diagrams and flowcharts.
